MEDRISK’S ECB RESEARCHERS TO PRESENT AT APTA 2007KING OF PRUSSIA, PA. (Feb. 22, 2007) Roger Nelson, PHD, PT, FAPTA, vice president of MedRisk’s Expert Clinical Benchmarks (ECB) and Kevin Basile, PT, MS, OCS, MTC and MedRisk’s director of clinical services will each make presentations at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) 2007 Annual Conference. Dr. Nelson will discuss the validation of the Spanish-language version of the MedRisk Instrument for Measuring Patient Satisfaction with Physical Therapy Care. With 28 million people in the U.S. speaking Spanish as their primary language, ECB sought to develop a mechanism that included this population in quality assurance evaluations and clinical research. Dr. Nelson will review the development and methodology of the tool as well as the results of the validation during his presentation on June 30, 2007 beginning at 8:20 a.m. Basile will present “Physical Therapy Documentation in Workers’ Compensation Cases: Assessing the Level of Compliance of Documentation Compared to the Existing APTA Policy Statements.” His presentation will start at 9 a.m. on June 30, 2007 during the APTA 2007 conference. The Annual Conference and Exposition: PT 2007 will be held from June 27 through 30, 2007 in Denver. This is a national event for physical therapy featuring advanced programming presented by top professionals in the field. More than 3,000 physical therapy professionals are expected to attend.
