Patient Advocate
MedRisk’s patient advocates are at the heart of everything we do. Responsible for lending support, guidance and positivity to patients, our advocates help injured workers find the best provider for physical rehabilitation in a location convenient to home or work.
Using the collaborative power of teamwork, patient advocates help schedule the patient’s first appointment, making sure that both the injured worker and the provider have everything they need for a successful first visit.
Duties include making outbound scheduling calls, securing missing information from the insurance company, employer or physician and providing patients with educational materials as needed in advance of their first appointment.
Those who exceed in this position are caring and detail oriented with solid Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience. Strong data entry skills, keyboarding at 45 – 50 wpm no errors, solid organizational skills and the ability to think critically, work independently and as a team member are also required. A college education is preferred.
