The first course “Faster Return to Work with Work Hardening and FCEs,” will be webcast on March 2 at 11 a.m. EST
The first course, “Faster Return to Work: Work Hardening and Functional Capacity Evaluations” will be presented March 2 at 11 a.m. Eastern. The 60-minute course discusses the use of work hardening and reconditioning programs to improve injured employees’ physical and psychosocial functioning and facilitate return to work. It also shows how FCEs support safe return-to-work decisions.
“Work hardening is individualized and job-specific and designed to help injured employees return to their pre-injury levels of work,” said Brian Peers, DPT, product manager with MedRisk, who teaches the course. “FCEs measure a person’s ability to perform work-related tasks in a safe and dependable manner and are used to determine future medical treatment and return-to-work status. Used together or separately, these valuable tools can unstick claims and help employees return to work.”
MedRisk presents complimentary on-line courses quarterly. Each continuing education webinar offers one contact hour for adjusters, workers’ compensation nurses, certified case managers, certified disability management specialists, and certified rehabilitation counselors.
