MedRisk to Host Webinar on Vertebrogenic Low Back Pain, March 24, 2:30 EDT

King of Prussia, Pa. (March 9, 2021) —MedRisk, the leader in managed physical rehabilitation in workers’ compensation, will present “The Cause, Diagnosis and Treatment of Vertebrogenic Low Back Pain,” a free webinar, at 2:30 p.m. EDT on March 24.

Thomas Gleason, MD of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute and Anne Marciniak, PT, DPT, National Director of Clinical Services for MedRisk, will discuss a collaborative approach to treating chronic low back pain originating from the vertebrae. The program will focus on leveraging physical therapy services with interventional pain management.

Using research and video, Dr. Gleason will describe a new, minimally invasive Intracept Procedure to address the pain. Marciniak will discuss the type and timing of physical therapy needed to strengthen and condition the lumbar spine and surrounding areas after this pain reduction.

“Procedures and medication can resolve pain, but patients need mobility, strength, and endurance to stand on their feet all day or lift 50 pounds,” Marciniak said. “Collaboration among providers with different treatment techniques is needed to achieve return-to-work goals.”

Continuing education credits will be available for adjusters, registered nurses, and case managers in several states. Check here for details. The webinar is made possible by the sponsorship of IBJI, Procare, Dental Works USA, and MedRisk.
