MedRisk’s Jill Carnahan, PT, DPT and James DeLattre Will Discuss Telemedicine at FERMA

Advanced telemedicine capabilities are poised to transform the workers’ compensation industry, providing injured workers a much-needed alternative to on-site medical care.

Jill Carnahan, PT, DPT, a licensed, physical therapist with MedRisk, and the company’s Regional Sales Manager James DeLattre and will discuss a variety of telemedicine delivery models and their benefits at the Florida Educational Risk Management Association (FERMA) 2018 Summer Conference.

“The workers’ compensation industry is beginning to embrace telehealth for triage and nurse case management, but hasn’t fully recognized its role in physical therapy,” said DeLattre. “We will explore a wide variety of telehealth applications, including telerehabilitation.”

Starting at 9:45 a.m. on July 11, the session will discuss telehealth technologies and applications along with criteria to consider when deciding if telerehabilitation is a good fit for an organization. Presenters will also show how telerehabilitation can support in-clinic visits to improve outcomes.
