Provider Spotlight: TOC Therapy Center

Giving patients a hand by building better therapies.

TOC Therapy Center was founded in 2004 by The Orthopaedic Center with the goals of prioritizing patient care and satisfaction and collaborating with physicians to delivery therapy treatments that are proven, research-based, successful and innovative.

As home to the only certified hand therapists in the Huntsville and Madison regions of Alabama, TOC is highly dedicated to providing the most exceptional experience and services to their patients, especially in this area of specialization. The CHTs all have extensive experience and training in the treatment of injured hands, wrists and elbows and, like all of TOC’s staff, provide results-driving personalized care and attention to every single patient. In addition to the more traditional therapies commonly used for the upper extremity, the occupational therapists pride themselves on providing advanced treatments with a manual emphasis that includes the use of trigger point dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization.

The CHTs are also extremely talented with orthotics fabrication, crafting a wide variety of options to protect patients’ healing fractures while avoiding unnecessary stiffness. Custom fabricated orthotics can assist a patient’s recovery of motion more efficiently with less cost to the patient and insurance company. TOC’s CHTs are always focused on maximizing a patient’s functional outcome, relying on any number of casting methods to reduce the effects of joint contractures and encourage motion improvements.

With 30 physical therapists and five OT/CHTs spread across their eight locations, TOC treats more than 2,000 patients per week with services ranging from occupational and physical therapy to custom splinting and casting, working conditioning, trigger point dry needling and functional capacity evaluations.
